From Pierrepont Jonny Wilkinson Moved To Lord Wandsworth College Hampshire Where He Took
He plays his club rugby union for Toulon following twelve seasons in the English Premiership with the Newcastle Falcons. He announced his retirement from international rugby union in early December 2011. At the age of twelve, while at Pierrepont School, Frensham, Wilkinson told his rugby union master “I want to play for England, that’s all I want”. From Pierrepont, he moved to Lord Wandsworth College, Hampshire, where he took A-levels in French, Biology and Chemistry and gained a place at the University of Durham. He became a fixture in a side that went on to win the 1997-98 Allied Dunbar Premiership title. Wilkinson returned to domestic duties by taking over from Rob Andrew, who was made Falcons head coach (later Director of Rugby), as both their fly-half and goal kicker. He also played for the Falcons in their 1999 Tetley’s Bitter Cup final defeat to the London Wasps.
